Latitude 48 IPA

Appearance:
A light copper gold with a thin but persistent white head.

Aroma:
A great blend of candy and spice. Like a hop rolled in sugar. Very faint for an IPA.

Taste:
Nice clean flavor. An orange peel style bitter sweet flavor hits first fading into just a taste of malt. The bitterness from the hop has an earthyness mixed with an edge of sweet.

Overall:
The label says it is a mixture of hops from the 'hop belt'. This is very evident in the flavor. There are edges of spice, citrus, and earth notes. The sweetness of the malt (much closer to and English IPA than an American) is essential to balance these flavors. Not the hop bomb you would expect and that really works. Worth seeking out before they pull it for the season.
