Saint Arnold Icon Blue

Some more Texas goodness! This is Saint Arnold's 2nd installment of the Icon series. A cascadian dark ale. Roughly, that translates into a black IPA. Pours very dark, darker than I expected it to, with a beautiful khaki head that really pronounces itself at the mouth of the glass. On the nose I get some roasted malt with a subtle bouquet of hops. The taste is almost reverse from the nose as I get the hops first and it fades into the roasted malt flavors. This is very well balanced and offers a nice bit of hops and roastiness without either overpowering the other. The moutfeel is adequate for this beer as it's not too thin nor too thick. It's appropriate for being a great session able brew. I liked this one much more than the Icon Red. Can't wait for the next one.
