Kona Koko Brown Brown Ale

Maggie: This is a soft Brown Ale with no discernable hop flavor. The dark amber coloring is inviting. The slightest taste of coconut lingers at the very end. It is a very drinkable beer that goes down easy but has nothing remarkable about it.

Jim: I was totally prepared not to like this beer at all, but in the end I did enjoy it. The coconut comes through but does not overwhelm as happens in some ales that are infused with sweet adjuncts. There must be some hops in there somewhere because the brew is pretty well balanced, but they don't impart a flavor profile of their own. The malts are deeply toasted (like the coconut) and give Koko Brown one of the most attractive colors I have ever seen in a beer, a rich mahogany hue.
