Climax IPA

Pours clear deep golden color with thin head. Aroma is sliggt hint of citrus from the hops along with some earthy pine notes. Guessing there is a mix of west coast style hops with some english style. The taste is easy drinking and slightly mild. There is a nice taste of bitterness achieved from the roasted malts which drys out nicely. Overall impression is that the beer is too light for todays hoppy IPAs. This is more like an English IPA that is very sessionable as opposed to the west coast IPA that many of is like. I have met the brewer in the past and i know he is very into styles and i am sure this came out the way he wanted it to but i think most drinkers are looking for west coast style when they drink this.
