2009 Lisabella Montepulciano

My wife picked this wine up on sale for a few dollars at a local supermarket because we like Montepulcianos, at least the ones we've tried. This wine poured deep purple in the late afternoon shade. It had a bit of an acidic open, though not unpleasant; just enough to sort of wake my tongue up. This was followed by nice plum flavors and virtually no finish. This wine didn't have much depth or complexity. It would make nice semi-dry table wine because it is pleasantly drinkable and doesn't demand too much attention for itself...exactly what I expect in a Montepulciano.
