This book is about four disapperances (mack mackenzie,lindsey andrews, emily valley, rosemarie cummings, virignia trent) but the main one is about mack mackenzie who disappered. But calls every mothers day to talk to his mis mom. His sister carrolyn mackenzie is still searching for him even though its been 10yrs and he tells her not to. Then lindsey disappears and calls her dad on mothers day now the cops are trying to link all the disappearences to Mack. Carolyn has been inteveiwing her brother roomates from college (nick and bruce) plus seeing lawyers. The cops wont even help her anymore bc now he is a suspect in the four girls disappearences. Bruce has so much hate for mack and now after carolyn has meet up with him and talked to him she thinks he is trying to frame him with the murders bc his current wife was so obsessed n in so deeply love with mack. A homeless person (zach winters) comes forward saying lindsey was the last one out of the bar (windshed) and then jumped into a black mercedes suv. Lucas reeves the detective the mackenzie family hired to find mac mackenzie is now having all his guys out taking pictures of the ppl that are at the clubs in so ho and the ppl near the mackenzies house on sutton ave.officer gaylor had a warrent for zach winters cart and found lindseys cosmetic puch and zach said she dropped it when she was getting into the black svu. Carolyn has talken to barbta and she told hrt she was pregnant with her brothers child but had a abortion. Yet carolyn was at a resturant and barbara walked in with a boy that was 9 or 10 yrs old and it was macks son she had lied to carolyn. Carolyn got a letter at 3am saying that mack wanted to see him when she went to the run down house she was abducted. Nick went to check on her the next day and reported her missing. Elliot shot himself. The run down house was being knocked down and altman came out of a window and made the house cave in. The police tracked down altmans cell phone and went rushing to the house. Found lindsey and carolyn in the basement of the house. Elliot the one that was suppose to marry carolyns mom had used up all mack and her trust fund and was marrying her mom to cover up. Elliot had mack killed by altman to cover the missing money plus elliot was the one making the calls to olivis mackenzie every mothers day. Altman is the one that killed the drama teacher to get the tape recordings of mack to mix to use for the mother day calls. The cops found lindsey and carrolyn which was in the hospital to recoperate. Also nick and crolyn get married and have kids 3 months later.
